Using CBD Oils for Autism-
What to do and what NOT to do.
Recently I did a booth at an Autism event, and I was shocked at the number of people that had misconceptions about using CBD oils for autism. Today I want to dispel some myths and give you some beginning steps for Using CBD oils for autism (as well as essential oils). What to do and what NOT to do.
I enjoyed being at this autism event that I mentioned above. But, I was so surprised at the misinformation. These poor parents thought that CBD oil would make you high. I am here to tell you that is nothing can be further from the truth.
CBD It is the hemp oil and here’s only 0.3% in full spectrum of THC, You are not going to feel high in any way, shape or form.
When dealing with CBD oil, you need to know your brands and the kind of CBD oil that you want. There is the full spectrum, and then there is isolate. The Isolate is totally free from THC for those who were in military firearms rescue, police officers, or people who are going to be drug tested.
Then we have the full spectrum, which has 0.3% of THC. That’s what I want to talk mostly about today. I have had a lot of moms asked me as if they give this to their kids, how is it going to affect them?
I am here to tell you CBD is terrific for children! Especially for autistic children, a CBD oil is fantastic.
It does help with the calming nature of the actual oil itself. I also love to combine it with Essential Oils as well.
In a previous post, I spoke about how I was using CBD oil for my husband. He has diastolic heart failure, and we have been using CBD oil to manage his inflammation, his anxiety, and to manage the fluid retention, and pain.
#Myth 1: More is better
No, in both CBD oils and Essential Oils less is always better.
Remember these are like super concentrated oils. So a drop -just one drop of essential oil of peppermint is as equal to 50 cups of actual tea. Yes, Peppermint tea. It’s super concentrated, so you don’t want to waste it.
Myth #2: Any combination is good
No, there is a method to the madness. Proper blending is important. I would love to teach you how to use the resources so that you learn how to use the CBD and essential oils correctly, most efficiently and effectively. If you don’t have someone who is certified in essential oils or has been doing it for as long as I have been doing it, sometimes they can steer you in the wrong direction in inadvertently. They can give you misinformation without even realizing it. You have to do your research and your homework, and you do have to learn what works for your body. Everyone’s chemistry is different.
And having someone to help you with that is important.
For example, My husband does 20 drops in the morning and 40 in the afternoon because he did a lot of drugs in his day. So his receptors are wide open, and it takes quite a bit to help him out with everything that’s going on.
I, on the other hand, am much more sensitive. So I can do two to three drops in the morning and two to three drops in the afternoon. That’s it! I can’t do anything more than that are, especially at nighttime.
When you’re dealing with children, you have to dial it down.
Myth #3 If I use CBD or Essential Oils for my children, then I don’t have to do anything else.
Nutrition is a massive part of this, as well. You must take out of the diet all the negatives and possible allergens like dyes and gluten, dairy and sugar, etc. With autistic children, it just doesn’t work to think that you can give them these oils and then forget about the rest.
Depending on the degree of autism, some children can have texture sensitivity. So the oil texture and the flavor can be an issue — experiment with what your child enjoys. There are cinnamon and peppermint flavors, for example. It is crucial especially with autistic children, do a free sample first and then, and then you can actually, see if that’s going to work or not. If it doesn’t, and they don’t like that you can do it on the bottom of the feet and the pulse points like your wrist and then the neck area, the back of the neck and down the spine.
For essential oils as well, those are the best ways actually to apply. It’ll go right into the system, especially from the bottom of the feet because those are the biggest pores on your body. It’s funny cause you could do peppermint on your feet and you’ll taste it in your mouth and about 30 seconds. So if you haven’t ever done that before, you should try. That is a pretty cool trick.
Essential Oil Beginner Blends
Here are some cheat sheets on the best essential oil blends.
To start with, go with lemon, peppermint, and lavender. You can make blends with these three as your base.

This blend helps to clear your head and give you focused when you put it in your hands. You do a peppermint drop and wild orange on this one. Rub them together and inhale several, several times, and it’s just amazing what it will do for your brain power and focus.
Lavender Blend:
Lavendar
Basil or Bergomot
Margarine
Wild Orange.
I have a recipe for another blend called Peaceful that is on my Pinterest page under essential oils. That is is also for PTSD, and people who are suffering from anxiety and depression, but especially for autistic children as well.
These oils can be applied directly, diffused, and also made into roll-on blends. With children, you can put some socks on them and the smell doesn’t bother them as severely, and they can tolerate it.
It’s essential that you work with your child and see what’s going to work and what isn’t going to work.
I am here to serve, so I would love to have a chat with you. If you’d like to have a free chat with me, a 30-minute chat so we can see where you are and where do you want to go? Especially working with autistic children. I would love to help you out.
