There’s a lot of confusion going on, and the CBD craze has kind of gone a little mad and out of control there for just a little bit. But, they’re starting to have to reign that in. Pharmaceutical companies are not liking the CBDs, and they are trying to regulate it. The difference between the isolate and the full spectrum oils was a little confusing to us at first as well. We ourselves didn’t know for sure if isolate or full Spectrum CBD oil was better.
I experienced this especially when I started using this with my husband who has Diastolic Heart Failure. To give you a bit of background on his story, he was diagnosed last year with Pericardial Effusion. We went into the emergency room with what we thought was walking pneumonia. Which, he didn’t have of course, and so they drained off the fluid around his heart to help him. He was great for about three weeks, and it came right back on. He began to feel the same way he had before. So we went back in, and we found out that he actually had Pericardial Effusion, and there was fluid in the lungs as well. Pericardial Effusion is usually caused by a couple of different things, but of course, he had not had any of those issues. So they just called it idiopathic.
In June, he had to have open heart surgery to have a Pericardiectomy which is the removal of the Pericardial sac. And that has relieved some of the fluid actually coming off of the lungs. But it has not helped completely. We also had Hepatitis C in there, which we weren’t even aware of. He’d had that for about seven years, a really mild case which has been treated and cured at this point. So thankfully now, we’re just dealing with the Diastolic Heart Failure. One of the things that comes along with Diastolic Heart Failure though is discomfort in the joints, the inflammation and everything else that comes along with that. And so they were trying to prescribe some medications for that. Which, of course, we didn’t want to do, because they are very addictive. So we decided to go on a different path altogether and this is where the CBD oils come in.
I had to do a lot of research because I’m a research kind of girl. I do essential oils and I researched those and I went with a company that I found was the purest one out there that have a certified therapeutic grade oil. I have been with them for, since 2012. And I just love the company that I’m with.
Anyhow back to our question about if isolate or full spectrum CBD oil is better. The isolates are touted as the purest and the most concentrated form of the cannabinoid. Is the isolate better than the actual full spectrum? We’ve tried both. We have tried both the isolate and both the full spectrum. And surprisingly the best benefits for us have actually been with the full spectrum. Isolate means, the CBD oil is extracted from the hemp oil. It is isolated from all the other natural occurring cannabinoids. So it’s in it’s purest form, but it also has nothing else in it. It’s just isolate. There’s no THC in there. Again, Isolate, or broad spectrum means that there’s no THC.A lot of the bottles will come with a little sticker down at the bottom, it says THC free. Or it’ll say free altogether. That’s your isolate. That’s your broad spectrum. So there’s nothing else in there.
Full spectrum, though, includes other parts of the plant. Including the terpenes and some essential oils in there, as well. It’ll also contain a trace amount of THC. The 2018 Farm Bill, allows point three percent. That’s the legal amount that can be in there. So the product has a little bit of THC in it. But it is not going to cause any high effects. And it’s not going to show up on any drug tests. My husband is with the Department of Defense and so we have to be really careful what he puts into his body because they can periodically drug test him, here and there. They haven’t done that since he’s been at this job since he’s been here almost eight years now, they’ve never tested him, ever, but they could. That’s the possibility that they could. If you’re military, DOD, or Federal contractor and you have that possibility, of being randomly tested, you need to have a product that you know is not going to show up on the drug test. So this is a reason why this only is point three percent. So now to answer the question:
“Is Isolate or Full Spectrum CBD Oil better?”
I believe the full spectrum CBD oil is better. It has very much helped my husband with his continued issues and given him assistance with inflammation reduction and pain relief. Why is it better? The reason is because of the entourage effect. Researchers are seeing that the CBD oils when it’s used with other cannabinoid compounds, have their own therapeutic potential that affects the body in natural ways and is more powerful in helping to relieve some of the symptoms that you’re looking for.
A word of caution: You have to be careful, and you have read the labels really well. This is what I teach in my essential oils as well. All essential oils are not created equal. Same thing with CBD oils. Not all CBD oils are created equal. You can’t just go and buy them. You can’t just not do your research, and ingest them into your temple here. It’s essential that you do your research. The company that I am promoting and working with is on the Forbes certified list for the top ten essential oils, I mean the TOP essential oils!
What about FDA approval? The FDA is currently not involved with the CBD oils, but they might be someday. It was the same way years ago with essential oils. Now, there are only a couple of essential oil companies that have been FDA approved. We actually produced all the studies to the FDA to say, “Yes we do have the scientific information that you are requesting.” But, we have to be very careful about what we say. We can’t say that it totally cures. We can’t make those claims. But you can say that it helps and it aids with certain things. The same thing with the CBD oils, people are coming out, and they’re saying, “Hey I took this CBD oil, and I’m cured.” Okay. I don’t want to say that you’re not, but you might be, but you can’t just go around saying it’s the cure all.” It’s not the cure-all. It has to be used accordingly. It has to be used correctly, it has to be ingested a certain way. It has to be certified. It has to be pure and organic.
I really implore you to really do your research. Or, you can just come to me, and I will help you out with that. Right now there isn’t regulation. So I’ve heard people say, “Well I just go to the smoke shop and get it.” No! Do not do that. Do not go to your grocery store and buy essential oils. You get what you pay for. You’re putting them into your body, and then you’re saying, “Hey it doesn’t work. This stuff doesn’t work. I don’t know what people are talking about.” Actually, it does work if you’re using the right brand and you’re using the purest and most organic ones out there.
